As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) the Cairns Centre for Drilling & Well Control provides nationally recognised and accredited training in several RII competency Standard units - specialising in blow out prevention (BOP), stuck pipe operations, underbalanced air-drilling operations, safety and skill development, well intervention. We also deliver non-accredited IWCF BOP training.
We offer a genuinely unique training experience having the only BOP school in Australia with a fully qualified teacher of post compulsory education and training with (AQF Level 9 - Masters Degree in Education) who is also registered as a teacher in Queensland. The minimum standard required by the VET nationally recognised Standards is TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or its successor; or Hold a diploma of higher level qualification in adult education - (AQF Level 4).
IWCF courses do not have the minimum standard requirement for training and assessment for accredited courses in Australia.
We also have a teacher of post compulsory education and training with AQF Level 8 - Degree in Further Education & Training and Bachelor Science (Psychology) available for learning disability assessment and tutoring.
Our specialised training and skill development allows those working in the petroleum industry to be competently trained and assessed so that they can continue to work safely in an ever growing and changing world of onshore & offshore drilling.
